One of my recent favourites is
Villa Flora, Hansastr. 44, www.villa-flora.net ... they have a pretty nice brunch.
Also be sure to walk at least once through the Hofbräuhaus, thought you get better food and beer someplace else. But, Across the street is a Sushi-joint, all my friends currently swear on it.

What is a nice place to hang out an evening, especially when the weather is good and you can sit outside is the Zoozie´z. Great food, good Cocktails, normaly a great crowd, Wittelsbacherstr. 15, www.zooziez.de
Downtown is also the Prinz Myshkin, they have great vegetarian food, Hackenstr. 2 (just 2 Minutes from Marienplatz) www.prinzmyshkin.com
