MrsNWI did get asked why she was applying and - because she never really has to answer questions because she's travelling with me and probably didn't really fully understand the advantages - gave an answer along the lines of "so I can go on vacation", which clearly was not what the officer was aiming at. He obviously didn't much care what the answer was, because she emerged with an acceptance in hand.
The chances are the officer will look at your entry record and understand exactly why you want GE. Given they've been admitting you monthly without issue, there's absolutely no reason why they would consider you a risk whatever answer you give (if indeed they even bother to ask).
That was pretty much my experience - Panama was the thing that got the most questions asked about my visit. Qatar, Egypt, were not even mentioned.
