Thinking of booking ANA (operated by Air Japan) HKG/NRT return in January in economy and upgrading to business using Star Alliance miles. But Expedia shows the business class layout as 2-2-2, which is not much of an improvement from economy at 2-3-2, but is consistent with JL 767's on this route.

Seatguru shows shows a 2-1-2 configuration, as does ANA. But the Air Japan website doesn't seem to have seatplans.

Can anyone who has flown this route on these Air Japan services shed some light on this? I don't really want to waste my miles on an upgrade is it means 2-3-2 to 2-2-2. Thanks.
