Agree on setting up the itinerary IME with both AA and now BA. So far, though, BA is not going well.
I called this morning re: the itinerary I setup on Wednesday and got an agent who said that it could not be priced, "there is no valid fare". After pressing a bit to try to get details, the woman said that I was back-tracking on the itinerary (which I am not). She transferred me back to Sales and I got the same person who setup my itinerary in the first place and he could NOT make sense of the issue. He sees it as a valid itinerary (as does the online tool, as do I).
Anyway, someone (maybe the woman I spoke to earlier) canceled my itinerary so the gentleman setup a new itinerary with the same flights, put some notes in asking to rush and stating that the itinerary appears to be a valid RTW fare and sent back to pricing.
We'll see how that goes... to be continued.
