You MUST eat at Baan Rim Pa (www.Baanrimpa.com). I have been to Phuket two different times (military) and both times ate there every other night. By far the most memorable dining experience I have had. It was even featured on the Travel Channel a while back.
It is located just outside Patong Beach on a cliff about 100 feet above the water and has a great outdoorsy feel. Very romantic-definitely first class. The restaurant is one bg reason why I would return. I expect a detailed trip report when you return.
