People will do a lot to save a few bucks

When AC is selling LAX/SFO-HKG via YVR for <$500 RT, and the direct is 2x the price, its a no brainer for most people if its coming out of their own pocket. Heck even if its $50 cheaper - it comes up in the metasearches - lots of people will book based on price.

I think it was our own AC SD who said something to the tune of on AC's TLV flights, 60%+ pax are connecting to the USA.

As always in the AC world, USA-Canada-Asia/Europe is ok, but Canada-DXB-Asia/ME/India is not, and has to be stopped!
