You might want to do a search on "pet transportation" or look in your phonebook. There are quite a lot of places that specialize in pet transportation and perhaps contacting one would help. I used to be familiar with one in San Francisco that was quite well versed in all the options and requirements for transporting animals. They had some animals they arranged transport for that logged more miles than many of us.
