Security is not the issue and they really do not mind that you have multiple bookings. If you do this a lot they might come after you in the form of taking away tier points etc or other sanctions, but those are widely debated and no one knows for sure, and no one has confirmed reports of this happening lately. If you bought online you are fine. If you bought through a travel agent you are putting your agent at risk of getting billed for the full value of a flight priced without the last segment.
It would be a CX ticket though, so would be a question of whether CX would withhold posting points and whether CX pursues TAs/customers for this sort of thing which is best asked in the CX section.
