If I could figure out a good way to make outgoing international calls cheaply with a cell phone or reliably with Internet telephony, I would get rid of the landline. I have cable Internet and I use e-fax for incoming faxes. I still use a fax machine for outgoing faxes, but I don't really need to. I could type outgoing faxes with my word processor and then e-fax would send them, and if graphics had to be sent, I could scan those pages with my flat bed scanner and then e-fax would send them as a fax. That would be a bit of a pain, however, but probably worth it since I would be saving about $24 a month. My cell phone service also has long distance at no additional cost and free night and weekend minutes and free minutes for calling my wife's cell phone.

Of course, how could I give up the miles I get for switching long distance companies? You can't do that with a cell phone.
