It's not CMB, but there is a thread in the forum about some ex-KTM fares in the $1500 range.

Edited to add: The CMB-JFK W fare also looks to be slightly cheaper now, in the $1800 range. QR has similar fare on that route too. Not low $1k range by any means, but a little better than normal discounted fares
