A pretty amazing story. Fortunately 747s don't have a seat in front of the door in the cockpit. Had this happened on a 737 with someone on the cockpit jumpseat that person would probably be dead - or, at best, have been thrown onto the throttles. I was telling my husband this story today and, as someone who's jumpseated a lot, he was trying to figure out what the heck he'd do if the plane was barreling down the runway and he was strewn across the throttles. Good things FAs are there for our safety.
