as someone who has left my ipad on a UA flight (in SGN at midnight, no less), big kudos to the OP.

android allows you to have owner information always displayed on the lock screen (OEMs may take away this feature). ios has a "show message" feature when your ios device is in lost mode, but the device must be connected to the internet for it to go into lost mode - so it's not as simplistic. i now leave a business card in my ipad case.
