I had the M1 and M2, with a time in between using a Canon. I wouldn't pay extra for the M2. My needs/interests were similar to yours. The only item of interest to me was the BSI sensor. But I'm not sure I ever noticed a difference between the two sensors. The M1 was more compact and had a better feel.
