I thought there was a separate thread for this topic but I’ll just piggyback here instead. Today I was booking trips on UA, and I noticed something rare in that a 1 way lowest fare ticket was $180, and first for the same flight was $250. I thought sweet, I can fly first for less than most of my colleagues pay to fly coach.

Being the by-the-book company man that I am, I followed the rule of booking coach and figured I could upgrade later on my own dime. NOPE, unless I wanted to pay another $857!! As of now they still have that same low price up for first if you want to buy a ticket.

I know WN doesn’t have first but they don’t pull any bs with their pricing schemes so it made me appreciate WN a little more today.
