Strategy to find R availability

With the new website, has anybody figured out a new strategy to find R availability? On the old website, I could do a search for upgradeable space and there would be a message that would identify those flights that did not have availability in the R bucket. This could easily identify which flights to avoid and which to evaluate further.
Now, with the new website, the results seem to be very inconsistent. The little icon that shows seems inconsistent with the listed flight buckets, sometimes showing upgrades as available, and matching the R>0 count, and on other flight combinations, the icon will show that the upgrade is not available for the same segment that showed availability in a different flight combination.
Also, after selecting the outbound flight, the results for the return flight seem to ignore that there was a request for an upgrade, either with miles or with RPUs. After selecting the outbound flights, the results for all return flights usually say that there is not availability for any kind of upgrade, which definitely doesn't match the flight buckets.
I have 4 RPUS that expire on Jan 31 2016, and I'm looking to see if I can use them, but the website makes it very cumbersome to search for R>0. I can open up details for all flights, and then scan them all for R>0, but that makes my eyes cross with the small font. ( I know, a whole different thread.)
My only strategy seems to be to search by individual flight segments, and make note of those, and then call in to an agent to get this booked, and then apply the RPU.

Has anybody found any tricks to working with the new website?
