I know this is not the AA forum, so if this post is out of line, I understand. But I just got an email from AA outlining their FF program changes. I know a lot of folks here like to compare programs, and I don't have the time. But I didn't see any mention of a $$$ based program for status in their email. Did I miss something?

First of all, I don't think this thread is misplaced here, as it's about DL flyers' reactions to the AA changes... I was just going to start one like it...
Secondly, I hold Gold on DL and Plat on AA and hang around both forums (and troll B6 too
)... they're acting like the sky is caving on over in the AA forum, but to me, after experiencing the DL changes, the AA changes don't seem so bad... truth be told, AAdvantage is still better than SM at this point, and I think AA management knows it - they made their program just good enough to be slightly better than DL and UA, as there is no minimum spend for status, and the mileage earning rates are overall more generous and less complicated than they are over here at DAL. AA seems to have lower redemption rates overall, but DL seems, so far, to have more awards available.
