you probably won't ever get upgraded just beacuse. Especially at the gold level. As gold, you accumulate upgrade "stickers". Fr every 10,000 qualifying miles you fly after hitting gold, you get 4 "stickers". Each "sticker" is good for 500 miles. A 1200 mile flight requires 3 stickers.
As Gold, you can gut the upgrade porcesses 24 hours for departure. Ex. Plat and Plat. get their processed well before you do. If you fly routes tha that haveve lots of Ex. Plat and Plats, getting upgraded as Gold can be pretty tough.
One thing to add.. Upgrad stickers are only good for travel in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Carribean, and now, Central America. You *can't* use them to Europe, Asia, or South America.
