I've been able to not have to exchange funds @ my arrival airport in Tokyo the last two times. The six Daikokuya shops near where you may stay are- In Shinjuku, 2-8-5 Yoyogi Shibuya-ku
- In Shinbashi, 2-16-1 Shinbashi Minato-ku New Shinbashi building 1F room 114.
- In Shibuya, 23-11 Udagawacho Shibuya-ku RI Em building 2F
- Near Tokyo station, 1-6-19 Yaesu Chuo-ku second Bill Oguro 1F
- In Ueno, 4-2-2 Ueno Taito-ku
- and in central Yokohama, 1-2-3 Minamisaiwai Nishi-ku Yokohama-shi Kanagawa-ken Kioritz building 2F
I perceive Daikokuya has the best exchange rate of them all.
Here's a Japanese-language page which might give the exchange rate. But you can definitely look up shop locations there.
Heading to Japan next week, do you know if Daikokuya charges a service fee? The exchange rate on their website is great!
