BA connections in DUB on separate tickets?
I'll try to keep this brief:

I'm essentially doing the world's most uneconomical mileage run. To shorten the story, I'll be arriving in DUB on December 1st in CE from LHR at 12:20 on BA 834. This will be the end of one ticket. I'll have a checked bag.

I then am booked in DUB-LHR that same day on BA 837 in CE at 15:30 to start the return half of a ticket home to the US.

Is there a way to simplify this? I assume I'll have to collect my checked bag and process through customs and immigration as if I'm re-entering Ireland, then check in for the second flight as if I hadn't just flown in? Is there a connections process I can utilize in this case to make the process easier?
