Definitely book the room you can live with. Upgrades aren't so forthcoming at RC Kyoto. They always seem to have high occupancy for their hotel. The standard room at Hyatt Regency is just way too small for a family. You would need the Regency Tatami suite at least. The corner deluxe wouldn't provide much of a sleeping area for your daughter.
