Stay Report - 11/12-11/13/15

Location: The hotel is located really close to the Consolidated Rental Car Facility and its intermodal rail station (currently just subway and commuter rail but Amtrak will be moving over soon). You could also probably walk to the Hialeah Market Tri-Rail Station It's maybe 2 miles from MIA and is next to a Holiday Inn. A little ways down 36th Street are some restaurants and gas stations though I'd suggest being careful in this area at night.

Hotel: Minus the gaudy, Miami Vice-esque tropical paintings on the lobby walls, the hotel is actually in good repair. Elevators work fast, the common areas are well lit and the lobby atrium was quite pleasant. I will say there needs to be more parking. We were unable to find a spot when we arrived at 1 AM and we had to valet the car. Thankfully, self park is $17 vs. valet at $19.

Check In: Handled very quickly and I was given bottled water and chips for being a Diamond.

Room: Pretty nice for an ES. Large living room with small kitchenette including refrigerator, big bedroom and big bathroom. There are two closets, one in the bedroom and one in the living room, which was nice too. Outlets were near the bed, Wifi worked well as did the shower. No complaints about the room.

Breakfast/Other: Breakfast starts at 6:30 AM which is a little late for an airport hotel in my opinion. They had cooked to order omelets, eggs, bacon, potatoes, sausage and pancakes plus the usual cold items. The staff worked quickly and the hot food line moved fast.

There seems to be only a single valet employee who also drives the shuttle so it can take a while to get your car back. Overall though a good hotel, I'd be back.
