Were your clothes and other belongings damaged? Does anything need to be laundered or cleaned? I would want to at least launder all items that are washable, but if fry cleaning or hotel laundry is involved, I would expect UA to reimburse the expense as well as offer a customer service gesture. Obviously this should not have happened, even if it isn't seriously hazardous to one's health. I would feel sorry for any affected passenger who must go to some meeting or other event immediately upon arrival as well as seat mates of such passengers on their later connecting flights.
If this happened at an airport where there's a UA lounge with showers, IMO UA should have arranged for lounge access with top of the waiting list priority for the showers.
