I find the CW seat quite light and airy when I have all the blinds open, even when everyone else has them down. You cannot really tell how dark the rest of the cabin is.

To avoid glare it helps to sit on the side of the aircraft facing away from the Sun, which is "A" going eastbound and "K" going westbound when in the northern hemisphere.
