as a passenger, it doesn't really matter to me... I can be half-asleep... but what about the United employees or airport workers who have to be awake at 3AM to handle that flight? Raleigh isn't exactly a town that never sleeps.
They probably adjust their day and schedule to handle working until ~4am in the same way you do it to take a flight that arrives at ~3am?
