Given the recent crackdown, and a continuing Military Dictatorship, I would expect more places to observe the sales hours?
Small shops used to sell off hours and on holidays, but they'd wrap bottles up in newspapers. Fewer shops do this now given the general fear of being ratted on or found out.
I know you said this before, but I assure you that I bought beer dozens of times in the afternoon hours at both Foodland soi 5, and (mostly) Villa Mkt. soi 11 last year between 11/20/14 and 1/10/15. 7/11 and Family Mart did NOT sell during off hours. I will update in a couple of weeks as I will be in the same area for 3 months.
