Why is blinds down the standard? It struck me on a recent CW UD to JFK (enough initials?) that the cabin seemed extremely gloomy on boarding, and remained so for much of the flight.
I've heard it often helps regulate the temperature, particularly if the plane has been sitting in a warm destination.
