Wow...I was about to hop in and say go for it, but will now hop in the second boat and say definitely not worth it for SB points. Glad you dodged one here, OP.

I would assume that the company is saying whoever wins the auction will receive 500k points worth of redemption "stuff", which they can choose off the SB redemption menu.
