The A330 was designed in the 1980's... The 777 was released in 1995. Anyway, my point was that the 747 and 777 are the biggest and fly the longest routes.
Yet DL puts more seats onto the A330-300 (293) than its 777s (291). Perhaps it's because the 747 is on the way out. And although I'm usually a Boeing over Airbus guy, there's something incredibly graceful about watching an A330 climb into the sky.
