I know of one Fortune 500 company that requires employees below a certain level to share rooms when traveling for business.

If I ever showed up at a hotel with such a bathroom "design" while not traveling solo, I would insist that the hotel re-book me at a comparable hotel at no extra charge.

The expectation of a solid wall and door to the bathroom is right up there with basic cleanliness.
