My return flight begins in Eastern Europe, and connects through IST for the long haul back to the US on TK for 52.5k miles. I recently changed my cruise to one that begins in IST instead of FCO. I was going to call and simply drop the IST to FCO leg of my first one way award, and then I realized that I will not only have to pay a change fee, but I will also have to kick in an extra 7.5k miles.

If I simply don't board the last leg of the first one-way, do I have anything to worry about? I know for sure if it were a round-trip they would cancel my return trip, however I am curious whether I should be concerned about them cancelling my second one-way given both trips are booked through Aeroplan? Can anyone weigh in?
I'd say no risk that the second ticket would be affected since they are separate. If this was part of a return ticket, then yes, big risk. However, you would need TK to agree to short-check your luggage to IST. If you have a long layover, they would probably be fine with that.
