Sure, lots of other types of people share rooms. I often travelled with my son before he grew up and now I have been taking my teen grandson to Europe every year since he was ten. Sometimes I take the whole family. Sometimes I travel with a friend and split the cost of a hotel room unless it's inexpensive to have two rooms. My friends who like to go to conferences often share rooms. Two beds and a bathroom with privacy are a must for many types of travellers.
