Question Stays paid for with Tesco Clubcard points - are they really ineligible for points?

Following the handy updated information on HeadForPoints, a few weeks ago I made a booking for a UK Hilton using Tesco Clubcard points. (Well, made the booking on the phone with Hilton, posted them the form and some clubcard vouchers, waited just over a week for a confirmation email, then gave that to the confused person at checkin...) £35 of clubcard vouchers got me a room that was showing as 70-something quid for advanced purchase, so not bad, but not the easiest! (The clubcard rate is higher than the cheapest AP rate, so I didn't get the headline 3x value, instead just 2x)

The problem is the hhonors points, or rather lack of them. The stay shows up in my hhonors activity list, and my stay+nights count both went up by one. As others here have found on other rates, no points posted. Not zero points, mind you, just a blank space where they normally would do!

I dropped an email to the Diamond desk about it, but they've come back and said that the rate is ineligible for points and is also ineligible to receive credit for any incidentals related to the stay!

That seems unlikely to me, as it was booked through Hilton themselves, but I guess there's a small chance that due to using the Tesco clubcard vouchers that they might actually be right...

Before I shout at them about it, does anyone know for sure - are stays booked at the special tesco clubcard rate and paid for with clubcard vouchers eligible for points, or not?
