I was declined the option of moving to an earlier YOW-YYZ flight once when I had checked bags.
I was originating in YOW, and probably could have told them I want an earlier flight, but it didn't occur to me until I was in the lounge.
I only check bags when absolutely necessary. I have a trip coming up that involves:
4 days in CUN (including a wedding, so suit and dress shoes required, in addition to beachwear)
6 days in YYZ (so the opposite of beachwear)
I'm only going to take carry-on. I'm going to try my best to avoid doing laundry in YYZ too, but I'll do it if necessary.
And its all because of risk. SFO-IAH-CUN (hoping to change that to SFO-CUN), CUN-IAD-YYZ, YYZ-SFO. Way too many places for a bag to go missing.
Hell I considered flying back to SFO between CUN and YYZ just to make the whole bag situation easier. That's how much I don't want to check a bag.
