I was booked on UA from San Jose to Austin via Denver. I told them I would volunteer if they put me on the AA nonstop that left an hour later. As a result I got into Austin more than an hour earlier than originally scheduled - in time to have a great meal at a fine Austin restaurant, instead of being stuck with McDonalds, the night I arrived.
