Travelling back, for cheapness, with CO YYZ-EWR-LHR (Code share with Virgin). The CO from YYZ to EWR was cancelled, and no more connections that day. Transferred onto Air Canada operating nonstop to London. They were already checked in and ready to go; only seats left were in C class. Arrived at Heathrow 3 hours ahead (!) of original schedule, after a nice nonstop C class overnight flight, having paid only GBP 229 each for the whole roundtrip. When we got to London we saw the Virgin transatlantic was expected 3 hours late, so we could have taken a later CO connection anyway. To cap it all we got an apology!
