The other consideration is the wait for a taxi vs. having a driver waiting for you. While the line at changai is always moving with a steady stream of cabs I've had times after the long Westcoast drag arriving at 1am where I've had to wait 20+mins. Now 20mins is not terrible but after 17hrs of flying I can see the appeal of driver waiting for you.
