Hyatt brands their Hakone property as a Regency, which is nowhere near their top tier -- Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, and Andaz are all superior brands. The HR Hakone is a very good hotel indeed -- the wonderful lounge is one of the most comforting public places I can think of in any hotel -- but I hardly think of it as a luxury property.
