I know for me, having the elite status is far more important than the RDM. And if the AA program changes work similarly to the WN program changes when I was flying them, I'll make enough on the work travel, plus when I buy up from work travel to A to buy some EQM, to offset most of the earning I lose on the long-haul flights during the cheapest fare sales.
But if ORD-LAX is $138 RT, I'm much more concerned about the 3500 EQM becoming 1700 or 0, or not being allowed to try and upgrade at T-100/T-24/T-4/T-1 for free, than I am about RDM going from 7000 to 1518.
I'm with you on this. Elite status and the perks that come with that are much more valuable to me than RDM.
I also wonder how PE will fit into all of this.... Since a lot of my TATL travel is in BA PE I'm wondering if I'll get more EQM vs before...
