Problem getting new EBG card - just me?
My qualification period ended on August 31 and I had enough points to re-qualify for EBG. I got a new EBG card in mid-September, but it was only good until 11/15, which was the same as my old EBG card. It was the new travel cash card with a chip so I thought that was the source of the mix up.
I called SAS and they said it would take about 6 weeks to get a new card and there was some sort of problem because my account was linked to Master Card. I explained that I did have an EB MasterCard about 3-4 years ago but that was cancelled and I didn't have problems getting my two previous EBG cards.
After not getting the card in six weeks, I called again. I got an apologetic and sympathetic person who said they would get a new card out shortly. After 10 days, I got an old type EBG card (no chip for travel cash) sent to me, but the expiration date was 11/15 again.
So that's twice the same mistake which leads me to think that this might be a system wide error relating to the new Travel Cash cards. Has anyone else experienced this?
I'm still waiting for the correct EBG card. I called on Monday and they said it would be here within a week. I hope that third times a charm as I'll be travelling to Asia with TK and I'd like to make use of EBG lounges.
