Taxes and the rest will never change, and because the air fares are so low now, it's a much larger percentage of the total ticket price then it was in the past, to we all notice it more.

I must disagree. I've never paid more than 20.00 in taxes for a ticket until now. People will stop flying even with low fares, and those who don't will blame the airline for high fares. I paid 120.00 for a ticket to TPA, base fare now 138.00 after taxes 215.00
