Absolutely flabbergasted at the fine of £1,700. Anyone who can afford a private helicopter that level of fine will be no deterrent.
I wonder if HAL could sue him directly for the cost of the disruption? At the very least he should have had his license suspended.
Supermarket tycoon Christopher Kiley, of Swansea, South Wales, was flying for lunch in a luxury country house in Buckinghamshire when he flew his chopper two miles into controlled airspace near Heathrow Airport.
A court heard Kiley, 62, forced a temporary halt of all northbound departures because of the security alert as his helicopter went as low as 300ft.
