On the 737-600's and 737-700's they usually store the safety demonstration and first aid equipment in the overhead above 1 D/E/F which results in that bin being less than half the size. As such I usually go for 2C on these aircraft as it's still bulkhead, but you have a full size overhead bin. I've had it happen no less than twice already where I sat in 1D and had my carry-on as far back as row 6 as 1F had the bin full already, as with those in row 2 and beyond.
I am actually at the point where I would rather pay for extra checked baggage rather than carry on other than wallet and laptop. (I do get 1 or 2 bags free anyway, so not a big deal). I hate getting on the plane and not having room for my stuff, especially after paying for a Plus fare.
Exception to this is when flying into YYZ, where I will do almost anything to avoid waiting and hour for my luggage (often delayed until next day - painful).
Anyone else?
