There is a
thread in the Lufthansa forum about the change in MAN T1 which came into effect at the beginning of July. I've been through T1 security 4 times since the change.
The first time I was directed to the 'Priority' lane, but when I reached the top of the queue I was ushered to the 'Fast Track' security, i.e. not the disability/family/push chair lane. The second and the third time I was directed to the 'Fast Track' after passing the BP scanners. Most recently (two weeks ago) I was directed to the 'Priority' lane but decided to move to the 'Fast Track' when I saw a family with 4 kids and two pushchairs in front of me. As it turned out there were two pax in wheelchairs in the 'Fast Track' so I ended up waiting longer than I might have done had I stayed in the 'Priority' lane.
All this was during the daytime when there were no long queues and I'm sure things can be worse at busy times. In T1 at least there have been two 'fast/priority' lanes for a long time. What has changed is the introduction of two types of automated gates. Having two lanes for three types of passengers is not ideal.
In T1 there are at least signs for 'Fast Track' and 'Priority' lanes. Also I have been able to go through the 'Priority' lane by showing my *G card only.
