I wouldn't worry too much about terrosism in Bali, as its population is predominantly Hindu and is, consequently, effectively separated from the rest of Indonesia. As far as getting there is concerned, CX has pretty convenient service to DPS and you get a free stopover in HK -- just be sure to book on their web site if you have any interest in accruing AA miles.
