My wife and I are planning a trip to London and Amsterdam in April and are booked to AMS using a Delta frequent flier ticket, connecting to a KLM flight 4.5 hours later using a separate paid ticket (Not planned the way, the result of a rebook of FF Miles due to flight changes after 9/11) Would you check your bags through on Delta to KLM or would you reclaim your bag and pass back through customs/check-in. I am concerned about the potential for lost bags with such a long connection and change of carriers. Any feedback or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
