Can't go with the rabbit on this one. Food and drinks could be poisoned anywhere. Terrorists wanting to strike at Americans could get 20 or 30 McDonald's at once by hitting a supply truck with some kind of bioagent or simple contaminant like Drano.

My reply:

I agree with your comments above. However my point is they (the terrorist types)know they have the airlines on the ropes, a major segment of the economy, and all they really need is a finishing blow. It seems to me anything they can do to shake travelers confidence has got to be a priority to them. Poisoning the food supply, while effective, is the beginning of a new campaign. If I was them, and I am not, I would strike against the airlines again.

Maybe some of the screeners aren't citizens, but they want to live and work in the US, and that's loyal enough for me.

My reply:

A fairly significant percentage are still loyal to their home country. Especially in reference to those from Mexico.

While I respect your opinion, I do not wish anyone else's "lesser standard" of loyalty to jeopardize my life or that of my family and friends.

I could be crazy. Also, "appropriate grooming habits" are somewhat subjective, IMO.

My reply:

You are correct, it is subjective. But a study of immigration patterns will illustrate that those who come to a country to embrace the culture as their own quickly align themselves with the conservative mores of the society. Those that wish to retain their own cultural identity tend to affiliate and develop social patterns that mimic the fringes of the adopted society.

Wishing all of you a safe journey,
