While the service might well be beneficial to you, I doubt it will help BA's profits and thus those that provide its capital - the shareholders.

I am actually resident in the area and plenty of people that I know (that are not employed in the oil industry), go on holiday every year. I seriously doubt that anyone inside the M25 has any idea on the limitations of public transport in the NE Scotland and the extra costs involved (perhaps we should get a holiday allowance similar to the London weighting!!).
In terms on passanger numbers, ABZ has not seen anything like a 30% fall in fixed wing traffic.
The pricing for EZY in the summer months suggests that there is money to be made in seasonal service.
