Glad to hear all the success stories. I have a 7 hour layover on a DL->VA connection next year, so I'm planning to leave the airport to either go to the beach or meet a friend. I figured I was stuck with normal security at TBIT, but based on these reports I'll give T5 a try to clear PreCheck and then take the shuttle to TBIT. Our BPs for VA should be issued by DL in SAT, so maybe TSA won't even notice we aren't flying from T5.
