Traveller Cheques

Hello, I am going to Thailand and Malaysia in a couple of weeks and i had a monetary question. I will be bringing over traveller's checks but should I bring my Canadian or Thai Bahts? No US cause i'd be charged exchange rate fees on 2 conversions then. I work at a bank so i get a good staff rate on exchange so I was thinking if I used my favourable rate here and brought over Thai currency, I wouldnt be surcharged so much as if I brought Cdn there. ANy comments??
