Changing Avios Booking: Seats Available for New Bookings, But Unable to Change?

Hello,

I've got an Avios booking in March and need to change the dates, I've been checking every day on the 'Book Flight With Avios' flight finder to see if the correct date comes up.

Today two seats have come up on the outbound date I want. Great! You can clearly book them afresh as redemption tickets.

However, when I go to change my existing booking online, this flight isn't offered. Instead, I can only choose on a calendar from a random selection of dates, (which do not correspond to dates which show as available via the main avios booking engine, incidentally).

I called BA and they also told me that their availability is only as per the 'change' page, above. But those two redemption seats I want are still showing as available for a fresh bookings! Has this happened to anyone? I'm wondering if I just cancel and rebook.... unfortunately I booked before the devaluation, so it'd be a risk and points loss if I did...
